From Dessau I took the train (2x change) to Berlin Airport Terminal 1 + 2. The last train was still 10 minutes late. I had taken into account a possible delay of the Deutsche Bahn. It was easy to find the way from the platform to the airport. As usual, I wanted to check in my luggage at the self-check-in, but the Berlin airport does not know the airline SAS and the message came up “The airline on your boarding pass is not available on this device. – For assistance, contact a member of staff.”

So we went to the check-in. Since I was much too early, the check-in was still closed. But this time it was the first one. 😊

Then the security check, where I was allowed to unpack my backpack as usual. So I took my iPhone out of my pocket, put my iPad, camera, navigation system and headphones in the tray and then stood sideways with my arms stretched out a bit, waited a little and then I was allowed to put everything back in. Standing sideways was new to me, because until now it was enough to walk through.
Anyway, it was still too early, so the first flight to Stockholm was not yet displayed. The display time was postponed twice and so I enjoyed a typical German bockwurst.

In the meantime, I got a message on my mobile that my flight would be delayed. Luckily I had more than 3 hours in Stockholm. The first flight to Stockholm was on a small plane and not fully booked. So I had 2 seats to myself. 😊

As I had landed late in Stockholm, I only had 2 hours and 55 minutes to stay. I looked for electricity, coffee and found both and started writing something for the blog. I also chatted with some friends.

The next flight was also delayed and as I only had a 1 1/2 hour layover in Oslo, it could be tight. We were supposed to leave at 6:10pm, but the plane didn’t take off until 6:40pm. With an hour’s flight time, we would not arrive in Oslo until 19:40. But my connecting flight was at 19:30. 🫣 I asked the steward. He looked at his list and reassured me.
“Your flight will not leave until 9pm. It’s delayed due to snowfall and storms. You can make it without any problem.”, and showed me his list and my flight.
Okay. Everything was delayed today, but I would get there eventually.
When I arrived in Oslo, I had to walk to the other end of the airport. Luckily, my flight was delayed. Almost all the restaurants were already closed or about to close. I was a little hungry. Grocery shops were still open. I bought a sandwich, my favourite chocolate in Norway and a bottle of water. I might have to explain that I don’t really like chocolate except for a little milk chocolate now and then, and that lasts me forever. But the Melkerulli have done it to me. 😊

In the meantime, my taxi in Ålesund called. Oh yes, I had to let them know that I was still sitting in Oslo waiting for my flight. A WhatsApp chat developed, where I kept sending photos of the current situation, that I wasn’t sure if we would really leave at 9 pm, because the plane hadn’t even landed yet. When I then wrote 21:10 that I was now on the plane, I could feel the relief on the other end. Shortly before Ålesund there was a bit of turbulence, but it was no big deal.
After I had my luggage, I looked for my taxi, I had received the number via WhatsApp. The driver was super nice and we talked half English and half Norwegian until we reached my accommodation.

I was also very satisfied with the accommodation. A small flat with a kitchen, a new bathroom, a washing machine and a separate entrance. Everything was very well and nicely furnished.
As always, I did my WhatsApp status and Instagram story in bed and then fell asleep contentedly after a long day of travelling.
