Day 3 – 07.07.2022 – on the road to Nyksund

on the road

The hotel was not far from the harbour. The parking was behind the house and the rooms were nice.

Downstairs at the reception, there was coffee for the hotel guests. Everyone checked into their room and we arranged to meet 40 minutes later downstairs at the reception.

Just as I was spreading out my photo equipment to dry, my mobile phone buzzed.

It was a message from my Instagram friend.

“I was busy with the side door,” he wrote.

Hmm, what was I supposed to reply to that, because I was still a little disappointed. I thought for a moment and wrote:

“Have a good trip with the KONG HARALD. I’m going to check out the area around Sortland now.”

“I recommend a trip to Nyksund.”

I quickly googled where Nyksund was. Hmm, that fits I thought and answered with a thumbs up.

Eva liked the idea too, as she wanted to check out the campsite in Myre on the way. It was exactly on the way to Nyksund.

So we looked at the campsite first and then drove to Nyksund. It was still raining. On the way, we stopped again where we liked it, took photos or just looked at the landscape.

My Instagram friend also got photos from the road.

On the road to Myre

First we drove on an asphalt road before the last kilometres had to be covered on a gravel road with many potholes. On the way we saw wooden frames for the dry fish, some houses before Nyksund appeared at the end of the road.
