Since we didn’t get to bed until around 03:00, we looked a bit rumpled by 08:00. 😊 The little sleep of the last few days was now making itself felt. I had a headache. Normally I would have lain down and slept and then the headache would be gone in no time.
This was not possible, of course, as we had to fly back today. We still had about 200km to go to the airport in Evenes. So I took a headache tablet and decided to drink a lot. That helped most of the time.
But first we had an unusual breakfast. Since Eva had eaten at her friends’ house, her ready-made meal was still in the fridge.
So it was a kind of ragout with mashed peas and potatoes. During our unusual breakfast, the sun actually showed itself a little.

After breakfast it was time to load the suitcases, hand in the keys at the golf club and off we went in the direction of Evenes. Eva drove the first half of the route, as I still had a headache. My job was to have our mobile phones ready and take photos of beautiful landscapes on the way. Eva usually did that when I was driving. 😊
In between, I wrote with my Instagram friend again. Most of the time he guessed where we were. 😊 On this trip, we not only enjoyed the beautiful landscape, but also saw some animals on the road.

We arrived in Evenes as planned at about 15:30. Here we refuelled the car, stowed the rest of our things in the suitcases and ate Eva’s beloved Grillpølse med skinke (a kind of grilled sausage in the shape of a hotdog with all kinds of extras).
When we returned the car, we had a quick chat with Matthias before checking in.
Evenes is a small airport and so only one kiosk with a small snack bar was open. We took turns stretching our legs. Slowly the waiting room filled up. First it was 20 minutes, then 45 minutes and finally it was 65 minutes late. We didn’t like that at all, because we still had plans to go into town in Oslo and have a cosy dinner.

So we stayed in Oslo at the hotel (Radisson Red this time), as we had to get up early. The food (1x fish and 1x meat) and the rooms were great.
Our flight to Geneva left the next day at 7:20am.
We were amazed at how many people were already on the road at 05:30. We had to queue to print luggage labels and check in our luggage. Everything else went smoothly. We arrived in Geneva around noon and bought a sandwich for the journey. We had a long train ride through the whole of Switzerland ahead of us. There was enough time to chat with my Instagram friend and send him some pictures from the road. He thanked me with a huge “WOW”.

After this trip, it was clear to both of us that we would travel to Norway together more often.
The next trip is planned for autumn/winter 2022, depending on the situation (Corona, flights….). We now also know that you can book a flight only 5 hours before departure. 😊
Where to in Norway is still open. Maybe to Tromsø and eat fiskeboller with bacon, or have a coffee on a Hurtigruten ship, we’ll see. Let us surprise you. Report to follow.
