At 10pm, the staff member from the golf club was at the door to pick me up.
Tee time was at 11pm. I wanted to use the time to familiarise myself with the unfamiliar clubs. I normally walk and don’t take a golf buggy, but given the uncertain weather, I hired one. I chose an electric one. I also got a large bath towel. A bath towel is really handy, especially when it rains from time to time on the way. You don’t have to sit on a wet seat.
The driving range was small but nice. Admittedly, I had never played on such a small one before. The ball machine also worked here with a token. You got 25 balls for that.
That was enough for me, because I could play a few times with each club.

Surprisingly, I got on well with the clubs. At 11 p.m. on the dot, I was ready at hole 1. Unfortunately, I was playing alone. Some had cancelled because of the weather, but that was good, because I didn’t have any stress and could play several balls. My golf watch recorded all the strokes. If I played several shots, I only counted the first shot, similar to the tournament. The first strokes were always the best, so I didn’t need any more. But since I had the golf course to myself, I thought why not. I lost a few balls in the process. The later it got, the fresher and windier it became. Now and then it drizzled. Towards the end, around hole 17 (around 02:30), I started to get tired. It was noticeable that I hadn’t slept much the last few days.
Here I was very happy that I had rented a buggy. But I finished playing, put everything back as we had discussed. It was a special experience, even if I would have liked some sun.

As I walked to the lodge, Eva met me halfway. She was also just on her way back. All in all, everyone had fun doing what they had done.
