Devoldfabrikk was a tip from an Instagram friend. She advised me to go there by speedboat, but I had rented a car. Unlike my other trips, it was always short distances that I drove here. So I looked for a way by car and my sat nav actually found it, about 20 min drive. So off I went.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The landscape on the way was very beautiful, despite the lack of snow. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity to stop and enjoy the landscape. But no matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devoldfabrikk is a shopping centre with outlet shops, an art shop and various exhibitions, as well as a small museum. First I went shopping. I finally found and bought a pair of hiking pants. On my September trip, I had no luck then. Then I had a coffee with a freshly baked almond boller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum is located on the second floor above the caf\u00e9. Admission is free and it has the same opening hours as the shopping centre. It shows the history of knitwear production since 1853. Even though the explanations were only in Norwegian, it was very interesting. I understood some of it and the rest was explained by the exhibits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was also a small port here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like everywhere else, it was partly as slippery as glass. First some snow had fallen, then it rained and at night it got cold and so now everything was frozen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way there, I had seen a signpost to the Aksla viewpoint, so I decided to follow it on the way back. An Instagram friend had posted that you can also drive up. As the stairs were very slippery and icy (a tour guide from Polarlys had written this to me the day before), I decided to drive up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I promptly slipped while photographing the monument, but no harm done. The view up here is just brilliant. I even saw where I was staying the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can only recommend both. I can’t say how strenuous the stairs are, but I only went up by car because I didn’t have spikes for my shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My shopping was all used up, so I went to eat at Egon in the evening. Egon is a restaurant chain in Norway. On the way back, I took a few pictures of \u00c5lesund, as it was the last evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
