Eva had booked an overnight stay at Sirena Guest House in Skarstein about 15 minutes before Andenes. My sat nav didn’t know the place, but luckily there was a sign. When we arrived, we only took the suitcases and wanted to get the rest later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An employee showed us the rooms and the kitchen. Both made a good impression. We also wanted to pay right away so that we wouldn’t have any stress in the morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva explained to her that she had not received an email with these payment conditions when booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„I don’t have that much cash. Here in Norway, where I can’t even buy 4 stamps without a credit card, I’m suddenly supposed to pay for the night in cash?“ I asked back, astonished and immediately suspicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Yes, we don’t have a card payment option here.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva tried to find a solution with her. In the meantime, the employee went to the boss and asked what possibilities there were. Her suggestion was to leave a copy of the passport, then get money in Andenes and pay tomorrow on the way back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole discussion got on my nerves, so I asked „Mr. Google“ for advice. I found out that there were still two rooms available at the Thon Hotel in Andenes. So we called there, asked if we could pay by card and then booked the rooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva assured us that we would not incur any further expenses, because we were there and the fault was clearly yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we dragged the suitcases back to the car in the pouring rain and off we went to Andenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thon Hotel was quickly found and the car park was behind the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Now I want to see the room and pay before I take the suitcase,“ I decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Ok, we’ll do it like this.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As if I had a premonition, the rooms were not in the main building but at the end of the road right by the sea. Small but nice, with shower and small kitchen and a beautiful view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all the stress with the overnight stay, we wanted to drive down a bit. So we took a short walk through Andenes and took the opportunity to see where the departure point for tomorrow’s whale safari was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In bed, as has been the case since the beginning of my journey, social networking took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the request of my numerous work colleagues, friends, family and acquaintances, pictures from the day were uploaded to my WhatsApp status and Instagram Story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Instagram posts were added only after the trip was over. Since many only had WhatsApp and others only Instagram, both were maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
