Before I decided what should be on the programme today, I looked out of the window. It was a bit cloudy, but it didn’t look like rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, after a hearty breakfast, I decided to take a day trip to Kjerring\u00f8y. Virgil had told me about this fishing village. He said, „The way there as well as the village itself is worth a visit.“ So off we went to Kjerring\u00f8y. On the way, I stopped as always when I saw something I liked. After all, I was on holiday and had the whole day free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To get to Kjerring\u00f8y, you have to take a ferry. I was there much too early or too late. You can look at it however you like 😉 So first I looked around, went to the toilet, read something about Kjerring\u00f8y in Norwegian and took a photo of the timetable so that I wouldn’t have to wait too long on the way back and ate the tangerines I had brought with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I got off the ferry again after a very short ride, the weather got better and better. The sun even came out. 😊<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the ferry, I met sheep running merrily across the road and also saw a small white sandy beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I arrived in Kjerring\u00f8y, I parked by the church, because I wanted to explore the place on foot. Since it was already noon, I wanted to eat something, but where? 🤔<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time I didn’t ask „Mr. Google“, but Virgil via Whatsapp. He was my „Mr. Google“ today 😂. The answer was not long in coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Either at „Handelsted“ or at „Bryggehotell“, came back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handelsted was just opposite the church. Unfortunately it was closed, because it was only open on weekends. Well, it was out of season. So we went to the Bryggehotell. In front of the hotel were many broadcast vans with many cables leading somewhere. I didn’t think much of it as I searched for the entrance. In my search I met a staff member from the hotel and decided to ask him if I could have something to eat, because the hotel looked pretty empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Excuse me, can I have some lunch?“, I asked in English to be on the safe side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Oh, sorry we are closed today. Norwegian TV is filming a programme here tonight and we are in the middle of preparations. I’m terribly sorry,“ I got the reply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The clerk must have guessed my quizzical expression and added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„If you walk down the road to the end and turn right, there’s a grocery shop and coffee too.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thanked him and made my way to the grocery shop. There I decided to buy a little more, just to be on the safe side, because then there would be enough for supper. I also found some funny wrapping paper in the shop. I bought this so I could wrap the gift for my Norwegian Instagram friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After refreshments, I went to have a look at the place. There were few people to be seen. Most of the people I met were the TV people. They were unmistakable because they all had a logo on their clothes and some of them spoke English among themselves. So they probably weren’t all Norwegians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Bryggehotell, I saw a white minibus with Norwegian tourists. They also wanted something to eat, but in vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 20 km further on was Kjerring\u00f8y Rorbusenter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Norwegian television will certainly not film in two places at the same time. Maybe there’s still something to eat there, or at least a coffee‘, I thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were no people there either. It was as if it was deserted. When I arrived, the small white bus with the Norwegian tourists was just leaving. I didn’t suspect anything good. 😳 I walked around, looked at the sea and looked at everything you could see here without meeting a single person. Just as I was walking back to the car, I met a young man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Excuse me, can I have a coffee here?“, I asked this time in Norwegian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The answer was in English:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Sorry we are closed. It’s the end of the season and I have a meeting. I just grabbed the papers quickly.“ and he pointed to the papers in his hand, „otherwise I would make you a coffee. I’m sorry.“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s nothing you can do about that. „Can I use the bathroom?“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

„Yeah, sure, through the door and to the left. Then just close the door. Sorry I have to go, the others are waiting,“ he said and disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We took a few more photos and then headed back towards Kjerring\u00f8y.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arriving in Kjerringoy, I realised that I was much too early for the ferry. So I stopped again at the village shop, got a coffee and something sweet and sat outside on a bench enjoying the sun. The Norwegian minibus had the same idea. Some smiled at me because we had met several times. An older man raised his coffee cup and toasted me and laughed. I laughed too and toasted back. Slowly they got back on their bus. When it had just driven maybe 2 metres, a woman came back from the toilet and ran after the bus. Now they had actually forgotten someone. The driver stopped, apologised and then counted his passengers twice before finally leaving. I stayed for a few more minutes, let the sun shine on my face and then drove towards the ferry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The white minibus was in the queue again (two cars in front of me). On the way back, I stopped again from time to time and enjoyed the area. It was simply a wonderful day. I can only recommend the two places. It’s definitely worth it when Norwegian TV isn’t filming there and the whole village is busy because of it 😉 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was on my way back, Virgil got in touch via WhatsApp and wanted to know how I liked it. I sent him a few photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the evening, I told him via WhatsApp what I had experienced. He was happy that I had enjoyed it. We chatted together for a while. In Norwegian, of course. 😊<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the side, I did the social networking work (WhatsApp and Instagram Story) for the friends and acquaintances at home, before I went to bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
